Madaniya and a delegation from Syrian civil society participated in the 9th Brussels Conference: Standing with Syria. Among the key points raised in the intervention of the Syrian civil society delegation were:

On February 12, 2025, Madaniya organized an event at the Arab World Institute under the title "Justice and Accountability in Syria’s Political Transition".

A delegation of Syrian civil society organisations, victim associations, and the Syrian Foreign Ministry met with the French Foreign Minister on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting on Syria, which was held in Paris with the participation of Arab and Western countries.

For nearly fourteen years, Syrian civil society organizations have persevered under exceptional challenges, striving to maintain a civic space where diverse voices and aspirations can converge around our country’s future. Today, as Syria stands at a decisive turning point, our role in reclaiming and strengthening the civic sphere’s political legitimacy has never been more critical.
In this context, Madaniya invites you to participate in its first discussion session to be held in Damascus, where we will examine our role in the current phase. This session will be followed by a press conference launching Madaniya’s work from Damascus.

On November 21, 2024, Madaniya briefed the UN Security Council during its official session on Syria. This session focused on the political process and the role played by Syrian civil society.

Madaniya successfully completed its fourth international engagement program visit on November 10th in London. The event featured a round table session, organized in collaboration with the FCDO and attended by UK special envoy to Syria, Ann Snow.

Madaniya concluded its 5th international engagement meeting in Athens in November. During this visit, the Madaniya team, alongside representatives from member organizations, engaged in meaningful discussions with key figures including Ambassador Tasia Athanasiou.

In the absence of a legitimate and credible government to represent Syrians in the wake of the February 6th, 2023 Syria-Türkiye earthquakes, Madaniya mobilised Syrian CSOs in the diaspora to establish the Syria House, a home away from home, to receive condolences and diplomatic visits on the highest level!

Madaniya coordinated a meeting held on November 16 with the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, and his team at the United Nations building in Geneva to introduce Madaniya and provide updates on its work since the launch. Madaniya’s delegation addressed the futility of the step-by-step approach.

Madaniya concluded the round of meetings included in the international interaction program with a session held on November 22 with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome.

Madaniya is making significant strides in its International Engagement Program, highlighted by a recent meeting with Mr. Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye in Istanbul.

On March 14th, 2023, Madaniya launched its outreach in the US, meeting with over 30 prominent US-based Syrian Civil Society organizations to introduce Madaniya’s vision and discuss potential synergies and areas of collaboration.

Madaniya's second outreach with UK-based Syrian Civil Society organizations at Chatham House was a crucial step towards realizing Madaniya’s vision and goals.

Madaniya's efforts to connect with Syrian civil society organizations have taken a significant step forward with our recent outreach in the north-west region.

Madaniya's outreach efforts are ongoing, and we're thrilled to report that we've recently extended our outreach to the North-East region. During these meetings, we had the pleasure of engaging with numerous prominent civil society organizations (CSOs) and their exceptional leaders.

Madaniya extended its mobilization meetings to include civil society organizations (CSOs) and their representatives in regime-held areas. During these meetings, we had the pleasure of engaging with prominent CSOs and their exceptional leaders.

Our 6th mobilization meeting was another success as Madaniya extended its reach to include CSOs and their representatives in Turkey and Lebanon.

MADANIYA’S INAUGURAL CONFERENCE 2023 LAUNCHES IN PARIS
On June 5 and 6, 2023, over 180 representatives of Syrian civil society organisations gathered at the Institut Du Monde Arabe, Paris, to launch Madaniya, through an inaugural conference.

Members of Syrian civil society engage high level officials, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as key Ukrainian stakeholders, in Kyiv, to commemorate 10th Anniversary of Chemical Weapon attacks in Syria.

On October 17, 2023, Madaniya initiated its international engagement program with its member organizations. The first event took place in Brussels.

On October 23 & 24, 2023, Madaniya conducted its second round of visits as part of our International Engagement Program.

Madaniya is advancing its international engagement program, holding a meeting with the MENA Director at the Foreign Office in Berlin on October 27th.
