Eyad Al-Khatib

Eyad Al-Khatib is a Syrian civil and human rights activist from Salamieh with over ١٥ years of experience working with civil society organisations and managing programmes. Since ٢٠١٥, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Amal Foundation, following his role as Head of Human Resources. Between ٢٠١٤ and ٢٠١٩, Eyad worked as a Field Coordinator at the Centre for Civil Society and Democracy, overseeing programme implementation, developing field plans, and managing daily operations. He has also collaborated with the Syrian Civil Platform, the “Ana Hiya” Network, and the Aman Network, contributing to coordination between local communities and stakeholders. Eyad holds multiple Training of Trainers certifications in elections and observation, good governance, anti-corruption, and advocacy. In ٢٠١٤, he was arrested by the Assad regime for his peaceful civic activism but continued his work upon release, focusing on empowering individuals, strengthening local governance, and promoting democratic participation across Syria.
