Abdulkarim Al-Qziz

Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Qziz is a medical doctor and global health expert with over 15 years of experience at the intersection of clinical medicine, humanitarian response, and health systems governance. He began his career as a neurosurgeon in Syria before taking on leadership roles in developing local healthcare services and governance systems in conflict-affected areas. He currently serves as the Syria Country Director at Action for Humanity, where he leads multi-regional strategies supporting early recovery, economic revitalisation, and access to healthcare for crisis-affected communities. Dr. Al-Qziz is also a researcher at King’s College London, contributing to a flagship project focused on rebuilding health governance systems in northern Syria. He has provided consultancy to leading institutions, including the World Health Organisation and Chatham House, and has authored over 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers. His work bridges field realities, academic research, and policy solutions to strengthen local leadership and sustainable health systems.
