2025 Programs
With the fall of the regime marking a turning point in Syria’s modern history, Madaniya has realigned its 2025 programs to meet the urgent demands of political transition, civic leadership, and democratic reconstruction. In this new context, Madaniya is focused on strengthening the role of civil society as a core driver of accountability, inclusion, and long-term stability.
As part of this strategic shift, Madaniya has launched the Comprehensive Dialogue on the Role of Civil Society in Monitoring Political Transition—a national initiative developed in partnership with The Day After (TDA). This program responds to the need for clear, locally rooted mechanisms to monitor the transition process and to reimagine the role of civic actors—including Madaniya itself—in shaping Syria’s future.
At the heart of the initiative is the establishment of a Political Transition Observatory, which will be built through regional dialogue sessions and participatory consultations. By producing practical, rights-based indicators across key reform areas, the program aims to empower civil society with the tools and frameworks needed to hold transitional institutions accountable and contribute meaningfully to the democratic rebuilding of the state.
